Sunday, 23 June- Grand Lake, CO to Rocky Mountain National Park

Sunday, June 23rd- We got up this morning and went to Church in Grand Lake at Stillwater Church.  It was a nice time together with Courtney’s parents, her sister- and her family.  After that we grabbed lunch at the burger stand where Courtney worked at in town.  We ate burgers there on the water and then headed up a trail in the NP to check out Adams Falls.  It was a fun time.  After the hike, we headed back to get the camper all packed up and got on the road.
Burgers and Ice Cream!

King of the Rockies

From Grand Lake, it is only a 15 mile straight line distance to get to Estes Park.  However, through the park and over the mountain, it took 48 miles of hairpin turns and steep ascents and descents.  We put the Ford to the test again- without any trouble.  We made it through the park and stayed at Morraine Campground in Rocky Mountain National Park for the evening.  The park was really nice.  We were able to call our friends, the Kinleys after we set up.  We went over to their house to eat dinner and visit for the evening.  It was a lot of fun!
